We pull on the Outpeak for ultra-light performance as we seek out hidden powder pockets in the more remote sections of our backyard mountains. Laminated with an ultra-breathable GORE-TEX membrane, this pant bars entry against the elements while keeping our microclimate from getting worked up underneath. When the steepening terrain forces us to bootpack the rest of the way, we open the side zippers to let our rocketing heat escape. When it’s finally time for that soul-feeding drop, the zippered hem and snap-side gaiters make switching out of walk mode quicker and easier.
